The Yin and The Yang

Worth a Share-

The study of ancient Chinese characters reveals that “yin” and “yang” were once used to indicate geographical locations. “Yin” referred to the colder northern side of a hill and “yang” referred to the warmer side facing south. Over the course of many centuries, yin and yang became symbols with multiple meanings denoting two opposing forces within a harmonious whole. How yin and yang can be reconciled to embody harmony is a key theme in Chinese philosophy.

My own Little Version of Notcot

Photographic Arts

I am still deciding whether to make this into a tag or an entry coz this guy's work is quite - Intriguing!

Chris Jordan
- Best known for his work depicting consumerism in the United States, looks at little plastic things and electronic goodies used in everyday life that we cannot possibly recycle to the fullest in un-uttered numbers and depicts it through his photographic skills. Throwing vanity away to the streets here is an image depicting 32,000 Barbies, equal to the number of 'elective breast augmentation surgeries' performed monthly in the US in 2006.

Depicts 200,000 packs of cigarettes, equal to the number of Americans who die from cigarette smoking every six months.

We need people like him to get us back to ground reality!

Recycling at its Naive Best!

I was planning to write this article on how the best way people can think of recycling anything is to turn millions of those pieces into a lamp! Really has there been a dearth of innovative thinking of late or are inspirations running away?!

Putting that thought to a rest ...'lo and behold

Abstract /Edited- Guardian, U.K.

The organisers of the London Olympics are planning to pass on more than just the Olympic flag to the next host city when the games end in September 2012. The hot target for the next being Chicago, London's deal with Chicago has struck a possibility as both cities have decided to build main stadiums with small numbers of permanent seats while erecting giant seating scaffolds for the two weeks of competition. Talks have focused on how London's stadium might be bolted rather than welded together, ensuring the materials used allow it to function properly in another country and climate, and how sections might fit on a cargo ship.

HOK Sport, architects of London's Olympic stadium, have deliberately designed the arena as a kit in part. A permanent concrete bowl of 25,000 seats will remain in place for athletics, lower league football and rugby, but every other component could be sold on.

A good start, whatsay?

An ode to an Ants' Swimming Pool Escape

Now this little me
as small as can be
minding my business as usual you see,
but lo and behold up from afar
this giant something
knocks my head off the bar!
what the hell was it? who can tell!?
you'd think
when im in danger
I'll be more willing to consider my options out of here!

Anyway this puny little soul of mine
is drowned in something watery and lime
the taste of chloro-form builds up inside
my antennae tingling- Im going to die!

ouch now theres no peace in death?
o.O whats this?
a messenger from god- hating hell?
oh my god its singing
its huge and white
"Thats right little Ant-y
im here to save your life!
cling on to me and you'll see
these mortals and humans grabbing on to me"
so hold on tight you'll be safe with me
as long as these 10 hours of music dont die with gleem

A! Grace. Its saved my day
Waterproof music systems for the techno-savvy you. Amen.
